Nerja
is located on the Costa Del Sol, on the border of the
Costa Tropical with spectacular cliffs on the outskirts
of the nature reserve of the Sierra Almijara and Sierra
Terjeda, with magnificent beaches and coves, some of which
are situated in the nature reserve of Marco-Cerra Gordo.
The sub tropical character of the region is unique in
Europe with an average temperature of 18 degrees and as
many as 300 days of sunshine per year.
In the old region of Nerja, you’ll find the renowned
local landmark ‘El Balcon de Europa’ (The
Balcony of Europe).If you enjoy excursions, you can explore
the unique Moorish architecture amidst the picturesque
towns of Furgiliana and Maro, both of which are just 4km
from Nerja.
Another local ‘must-see’ attraction, are the
world famous caves of Nerja along with the historic, recently
discovered, archaeological sites.
Within approx 2 hours drive are the Sierra Nevada mountains
which provide perfect conditions for skiing in the winter
